Studio Practice:Working in multiple firing capacities: mid-range and highfired stoneware and porcelain, both wheel-thrown and handbuilt.
Focus is functional and some semi-functional work—carved, glazed, fired at mid-range in electric kilns or wood, salt, and combination of wood/salt.
Wood fire participation at Stephen Mickey’s Soulgama and Slipper Kilns, Ken Pincus Skyline Noborigama, Mt. Hood Nanagama and Little Woody Kilns, and Ruri’s Fuu Kuu gama in Sheridan.
Work focuses on form and texture, and how glaze and firing is affected by texture and manipulation of clay as well as kiln atmosphere and flame.
New salt/soda kiln constructed at my studio in 2020.
Organizations:Founding member of Oregon Potters’ Association. Current Board member, Past Board Secretary, member of original by-laws committee, headed several committees for producing OPA Showcase.
